Expository Essay: Linguistic Intelligence
(Writing that explains)
· Using your text as the primary source, argue for either Kant or Hume’s vision of the world.
· This essay should follow the traditional essay format (intro, 3 supports, conclusion: 5 paragraphs) and include all drafts.
· This should be at least 2 pages in length, double-spaced, and typed.
· Part of your grade will be the correct use of quotes and documentation.
Personal Essay: Intrapersonal Intelligence
(First memory)
· This should be at least 2 pages in length, double-space, and typed.
· Include all drafts (D1, D2, RW, and Final).
· Your goal is to develop one thought (the earliest memory) over 2 pages in detail.
· Part of your grade will be on the details.
Art: The Spatial Intelligence
You have choices for this part; pick one:
· Create a drawing representing one of the main characters in the novel.
· Create a piece of art which ties together your ideas of the essays.
· Create a new book cover for the novel.
· The Art Part will be graded on level of involvement and quality of the final product.
Photographic Quotes: Kodak Moments
· Select 6 quotes from the text.
· Take pictures that you can relate to those quotes.
· In the form of a collage, portfolio, or PowerPoint, present the quotes and pictures.
Overall Guidelines:
· Include a title page for the entire project.
· Following title page, include an author’s note summarizing and introducing the project. (What are you most proud of? What was most difficult? What was learned?)
Notes:
Please be aware, failure to complete these requirements will result in an incomplete grade for Reading Workshop.
This project is the culmination of our entire year’s work.
